Meet the Team
Meet Ms. Connie
Connie Schmidt Kirman has run Kumon of Howell for 18 years. She works directly with every family to understand exactly where a child needs support, then builds a plan around it. Every instructor on our team is trained in the Kumon Method and works one-on-one with students during every session, building academic skills, confidence, and the study habits that carry over into everything else they do.

The Kumon Reading Program
We start with a solid foundation in phonics to build strong reading fluency. From there, students grow their vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension, learning to analyze and summarize increasingly complex material. The result: confident readers with the literacy skills to succeed in school and beyond.
The Kumon Math Program
Our math program builds a strong foundation in essential skills; fast, accurate calculation, fractions, decimals, and algebraic thinking. Students gain the confidence and problem-solving skills to excel in math, in the classroom and beyond.
